Quality means doing it right when no one is watching. (Henry Ford)

We are proud to announce that we have obtained UNI EN ISO 17100:2017 certification for translation services. This is an amazing result that we worked long and hard to achieve and which allows us to ensure that you get a translation service that meets and exceeds your expectations.

In recent months we also upgraded our Quality Management System to the 2015 version of the UNI EN USO 9001 standard, focussing more closely on risk based thinking and the analysis of the environment we work within, gaining this certification as a result.

The new certifications are concrete proof of our determination to continuously improve performance and keep striving for more effective work methods.

In other words, you can rely on us!

On 22nd and 23rd March we will of course be at SMAU, the main event in the fields of innovation and all things digital for companies (https://www.smau.it/padova18/pages/event/).

On March 26th, we will be at the Children’s Book Fair in Bologna (26th-29th March, http://www.bolognachildrensbookfair.com/home/878.html), to find out more in person about this truly fascinating sector.

On 7th April, we will be at TradPro 2018 in Pordenone, the language professionals event (https://www.trad-pro.it/). It's a great chance to get updated on the latest industry news and to meet old and new collaborators.

And naturally, as usual, we won't be missing out on the SDL Road Show in Milan on 16th May (https://www.sdl.com/it/event/language/live-events/05-2018/milan-roadshow.html), so we can discover what's new in translation technology.

During the course of the event, new features of the latest version — Studio 2017 — will be presented, whilst the second part of the day will be dedicated to actual training.

From St Jerome to our times: the significance of International Translation Day

Centrolingue joins the celebration of International Translation Day. 30 September is a day that spotlights an increasingly important profession, in a world where different languages, cultures and peoples meet and interact. Translation has a long history. A history shaped at times by notable historical figures, like the saint whose feast falls on this day: Saint Jerome. But why is he considered the patron saint of translators? Jerome is the principal author of the Vulgate, the Latin translation of the Old Testament — the first translation of the Bible — but he also left us other works and studies that have made his legacy so important in the history of Christian literature, Mediaeval culture and early Humanism.
Accordingly, 30 September is a day to reflect on the significance of translation as a profession, a cultural activity and a heritage to be valued and celebrated. An occasion for translators, reviewers, students and indeed everyone involved or interested in the world of languages to gather and exchange points of view, explore new themes and broaden current ideas and attitudes in this sector, and — no less important — to celebrate achievements. So… a happy International Translation Day to all! To find out more, visit the FIT website: http://www.fit-ift.org/international-translation-day-2017/

Happy European Day of Languages!

Join Centrolingue in marking European Day of Languages (EDL), which is organised by the Council of Europe and the European Union to celebrate the continent’s linguistic diversity. Various events and activities will take place today, all designed to recognise this diversity and promote the learning and preservation of languages. You, too, can take part in a number of these projects. For more information visit http://edl.ecml.at/Home/tabid/1455/language/it-IT/Default.aspx
